Communicating

Here are some messages which were given by a mother to her children. Can you say which of them are clear and possitive?

"Nice boys don't spit on others."
"Tim, spit into your mouth."
"Good boys don't play with knives."
"Keep the knife on the table. If you play with it, you get hurt."
"Clean up time. Hurry up."
"Pick up the waste papers and put them into the bin."
"What a mad thing you have done?"
"Take a paper towel and wipe your hand."

Here the messages in thick letters are clear and possitive. Children may find it difficult to understand what are meant by these words: Good boys/girls, nice boys/girls, made thing, rude thing and clean up time. If you start your message with an action part like pick up, keep it, take, put and go they grasp them easily and obey you. if you train yourself to speak like this you will get a good communication skill.
